The Process
This was my first project in a team based setting for my Game Mechanics 2 course at Full Sail University. For this project we made a simple side scrolling platformer. I worked as the main systems designer were I created the Player and Enemy Health systems and the players health UI element, I implemented the Player and Enemy attacks with Hitboxes, implemented the dash ability along with the Niagara effects that go with ability with the sound effects for ability, I also implemented the Ground Slam ability along with the Niagara Effects with sound effects for the ability. I set up the background music to play in the level as you play the game, I created the coin blueprint along with the coin collection system and the counting system for the players coins collected and score for the level, Finally I set up the UI widget displaying the controls on the screen for the player.
